Facility & equipment

Hospital-grade equipment in a small, calm clinic — and disinfection standards we're proud to publish.

Examination room with the digital anoscope and its monitor

Digital anoscope

Still uncommon in Japanese proctology. The idea comes from the dentist's chair: waiting without knowing what is going on is unsettling, but seeing your own tooth on the screen while it is explained to you makes it make sense. The same applies here — the images make the course of treatment easy to follow, and easier to feel at ease about.

Endoscopy system with 4K monitor

Gastrointestinal endoscopy — 4K monitor

A 4K screen beyond what a clinic normally has, so polyps are harder to miss. A 5.4 mm transnasal gastroscope (GIF-XP 290N) — thin enough to talk during the examination — and the CF-EZ 1500DI colonoscope on an OLYMPUS EVIS X CV-1500. We insufflate with carbon dioxide, so there is less bloating, and the passive-bending insertion tube is gentle on the abdomen. NBI helps judge whether a lesion is a tumour, and TXI assesses gastritis in fine detail. Polypectomy is performed here. Where needed we refer you to Dr. Kadokawa at the National Cancer Center, which has capsule endoscopy — on the same day you took the laxative, where possible. (The photo shows the previous-generation Elite system.)

X-ray room

X-ray

Used for Minato City lung cancer screening, for checking for intestinal obstruction or fractures, and for pre-operative tests before lumbar anaesthesia.

Ultrasound examination equipment

Ultrasound examination

The liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys and other abdominal organs can be examined without radiation exposure. It also helps in diagnosing anal fistula and perianal abscess.

Recovery room

Recovery room

A room to change in before surgery or endoscopy, and to return to afterwards. There is a seat for the person accompanying you. Coffee is available — though not after every kind of examination.

Endoscope washing machine

Endoscope washer

As part of our infection control we use a dedicated endoscope washer running on electrolysed acid water. Under the guidelines of OMED (the World Endoscopy Organization), electrolysed acid water rates as a high-level disinfectant: it kills a wide range of microorganisms quickly, and it is also safe for the human body and for the environment.

AED installed at the clinic

AED

An AED (automated external defibrillator) is installed at the clinic.

Deep-UV LED air steriliser

Infection control: deep-UV LED (Aeropure, Nikkiso)

An air sterilising and deodorising unit stated to inactivate 99.9% of the novel coronavirus, built on deep-ultraviolet LED technology whose development was recognised with the Nobel Prize in Physics. Alcohol hand disinfection is available; acrylic screens are in place in the consultation room and at reception; every room has a window and is ventilated; and protective clothing is worn for certain examinations.
